You know well enough
from your own experience
that there are some acts
of so-called freedom
that destroy freedom.
If you choose to love sin,
it will become your master,
and it will own you
and it will reward you with death.
But if you choose to love God,
he will reward you
with a right and reconciled life.
Thank God,
the beauty of our new situation is this:
now that we are free from sin,
we are free to serve a different master,
God’s redeeming love.
