1 John 4:16
God is love,

and all who live in love live in God,

and God lives in them.

And as we live in God,

our love grows more perfect.

stepping into a peaceful lake at dawn

as he prepares to fish.

Coupled with 1 John 4,

the symbolism of someone

stepping faithfully

into a welcoming pool of water

speaks volumes.

An even better picture

is how Rick has embodied
this Scripture in his life,
for Rick is a man
who has openly declared

that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Rick knows intimately

how much God loves him.

He has put his trust in that love.

He lives his life in that love,

And God clearly lives in him.

May we all aspire to Rick’s example.
