Deuteronomy 11:18-21
Write My words
on your heart and in your soul.
Do whatever it takes
to remember what I’m telling you.
Tie them to your hands.
Wear them
where you’ll see them everyday.
Teach them to your children.
Talk about them wherever you are,
when you’re at home
and when you’re on the road;
from the time you get up
until you go to bed at night.
Inscribe them
on the doorposts of your house
and on your city gates,
so that as long as the sky
remains above the earth,
you and your children may flourish
in the land the Lord swore
to give your ancestors.
THE SEVEN VERBS OF LEADERSHIP
<or> THE VINEYARD INITIATIVE
STEP 4: Plant
The fourth step to becoming
an effective leader in God’s Kingdom
is planting God’s word in your heart.
In The Song Of The Vineyard,
after the farmer prepares the land,
he plants the best seed.
The best seed that bears the greatest fruit
is the living and active word of God.
We plant by reading the Bible
and spending unhurried time with God
each and every day.
Do you need wisdom?
Read the Proverbs.
Do you need to overcome a problem?
Read Judges.
Do you want to learn to pray?
Read the Psalms.
Do you want to be more like Jesus?
Read the Gospels.
Do you want to grow as a leader?
Read the Bible,
and do what it says.
