Psalm 144:1
Blessed be the Lord,
my Rock and my great strength.
He trains my hands for war
and gives my fingers skill for battle.

Take this weapon
Forged in darkness
Some see a pen
I see a harpoon

EXCERPT FROM SERMON
Do you know what the
“Weapon Forged in Darkness” is?
It’s your story!
Some see a pen,
but God sees a harpoon.
Our eating disorders, our depression.
Our addictions, our pride.
Insecurity. Unforgiveness. Vanity.
Once we give these to God,
we never have to be ashamed of them again.
I am not ashamed
of the decade I spent as an alcoholic.
In fact, I’m encouraged by it.
Because now it serves
as a constant reminder
of all that God’s done for me.
When I was at my worst,
I asked God for help,
and he reached down and said,
“This one is mine!”
My brokenness has been made beautiful.
My shame has become my story.
My sword.
My song.
Genesis 50:20 says,
“You meant evil against me,
but God meant it for good,
in order to bring about today’s result,
and so that many people
should be saved.”
Make no mistake,
We’re combatting culture.
We’re battling behemoths.
And where some may look at us
and see damaged goods…
God sees dragon slayers!
