Psalm 119:27-28
Open up my understanding
to the ways of your wisdom
and I will meditate deeply
on your splendor and your wonders.
My life’s strength melts away
with grief and sadness.
Come strengthen me
and encourage me with your words.

SEVENAPPLES COMMENTARY
Until recently,
I’ve failed to appreciate the lyric,
“entertain my faith.”
It felt a little lazy to me.
Spoon-fed, even.
Yet, with just a little effort,
I realized my lack of appreciation
was only a lack of understanding.
Because “entertain” is a verb.
Therefore, it is packed with intention
and creative power.
As such, if we are to allow
our faith to be entertained
we must also allow
an “active consideration.”
A “pleasant holding” of our attention.
A “cherishing,” even.
And whether we realize it or not,
that’s what happens every time
we listen to these awesome songs.
Yes, Lord.
Entertain my faith.

I like this verse even more when Tyler use it in the city walls song. It’s so liberating that you can ask God for faith. You can ask Him for better relationship with Him. And He will give it to you if you ask Him.
When you beg for mercy…
…He will not leave you.
