In a world where most could not read or write, telling stories and listening and learning songs was the way to pass along knowledge. In this day and age, even with advances in reading, writing, and coding, our minds still recall stories and songs more easily. The arts just have a way with our heart strings.
God, we pray for songs that please you. We pray for songs that replay the words written in red. We pray that our praise and worship continues to give you thanks. We pray the songs we sing are able to strip away everything that covers our hearts, lay bare our sin, and proclaim our dependence on you. What can wash away our sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus. Amen
