The disciples replied,
“Some say you are John the Baptist.
Some say Elijah. Others say Jeremiah
or one of the other prophets.”
Then Jesus asked them,
“Yes, but who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter spoke up,
“You are the Messiah,
the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “You are blessed,

For you didn’t discover this on your own,
but my Father in heaven
has supernaturally revealed it to you.
Now I will tell you who you really are.
